Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving and are still enjoying having my Mom, Dad and sister here visiting. I'm totally bummed that my little brother couldn't come though.
This year Mike actually had Thanksgiving off. What a difference a holiday makes when Daddy can actually enjoy it with us. He even has Christmas and Christmas Eve off this year too! This is the first year he has had Christmas off since we had the boys. I am so happy!
Here are a few fun pics from our day. We all went and joined Mike's family at his parent's house and had a great time with some yummy grub!

The Culprit

Our boys have nasty colds. The stuffy, runny nose, horrible cough, congested cold. I am convinced that this is where they caught their colds from...

On Monday, we made a quick trip to Safeway to get a couple things. Outside of the store were two of these car shopping carts. Josh always asks me to ride in one whenever he sees them. I am such a mean Mommy and always say no. The germs on those things just scream swine flu.
Well, for some odd reason I gave in and let the boys ride in the car while I shopped. They absolutely loved it and I was able to acomplish and peaceful and quick shopping trip.

Here we are, a couple days later and I totally regret letting them ride in that dirty car. If you let your kids ride in those or even don't use shopping cart covers... please don't think I am judging or think you are a bad parent. I am just a little germaphobic with that kind of stuff.

You're probably thinking there were a million different place they could have caught their colds from. I know......... but as soon as I strapped them into that car I knew it was sickness just waiting to happen.

With all that said... we took our stuffed up, coughing kids to the Discovery Museum today where they were surrounded by a ton of other kids. Just what they need to get better, huh?! Oh, but they had a blast!!

Meet Fabienne

Isn't she adorable?

This morning our church hung up pictures of orphans from Haiti that are in need of sponsors. I actually wasn't planning on taking any of the children, but I thought I'd go take a look at the pictures.

That's when I saw Feirier... she likes to be called Fabienne. She is 8 years old and her birthday is August 10th, which is my birthday. She also wants to be a teacher when she grows up. How could I pass her up??

She's now ours and I can't wait to start communicating with her! I can't wait to go buy some fun girly things to send to her!

Happy Halloween

Despite Daddy having to work on Halloween, the boys and I went to a fun Halloween party with some friends. We had a couple costume changes prior to leaving, but in the end I ended up taking an atronaut and a handyman to the party with me.

Josh the astronaut

Jason the handy man

Josh the monkey (this is one of the two costumes we received from this cute blog's giveaway)

Jason the fireman (this was the costume he was going to originally wear out, but the poor guy couldn't stay standing up with all the gear on. It didn't help that we couldn't find his firehat anywhere)
