Just in case...

... I was informed that my background is going to disappear on Friday. Something about the code I used for it expires that day. I still am not the most blog savvy, so these new backgrounds take me forever. I really hope this one doesn't go away.

So just in case it does... bare with me until I find a free moment(hours) to design a new one.

Because..... we are off to our vacation and I will be having too much fun with my fam to be worrying about a new blog background.

Room and Maid Service, here I come!!! =)

Cutest Patient Ever

Is he not the cutest?!

Jason was such a trooper. I think it was harder on me than him. I was super nervous about the whole "hand over your child to a complete stranger nurse who will take him into the operating room" part. It helped that they had a fun wagon that he could ride in instead of being carried by a complete stranger.

The doctor drained all the fluid out of his ears and then put in the tubes. He should be able to hear pretty good. Last night I was using the Magic Bullet, which he has never even batted an eye too. He looked at me, covered his ears and walked out of the kitchen.

I'm excited to see more progress and praying he starts talking more.

2 Weeks

I am so excited for July 20th! In a little less than 2 weeks Jason is having a minor surgery to have tubes put in his ears and it seems odd, but I can't wait!

We had his pre-op appointment today and the doctor eased all my fears that go along with my little boy having surgery...again... and really made us hopeful for great end results.

Jason turned 2 in May and still isn't talking. He can only clearly say Mama, Dada, yeah and no. That's about it. I know I'm not supposed to compare kids, but Josh was full on talking by age 2. I knew with the way Jason only grunts the sounds of words and gets so frustrated when he is trying to tell me what he wants that there was something off.

It took me a little while to take him to the doctor because I honestly just didn't want to know what they would say was wrong with him. I spent way too many hours researching it and read way too many articles about what "could" be wrong.

After finally seeing our pediatrician, an audiologist and an ear nose throat doctor we were told that Jason has partial hearing loss. He also has fluid behind both eardrums, which is making him ear as if his ears were plugged. That explained the speech issues! The doctors are confident that putting tubes in his ears will drain the fluid, which will cause him to hear better and soon after he'll be talking.

I've heard so many stories of kids just like Jason... grunting instead of speaking, easily frustrated, lots of colds, not sleeping well because of the pressure of the fluid, behavior issues, etc... and soon after the tubes were put in they were like a different child.

I can't wait to hear my little guy talk!! I've been having dreams that he can clearly talk and I am having conversations with him. I pray that there is no other issue and that getting the tubes put in his ears will be exactly what he needed.

4th Fun!

We had a low key, yet fun 4th of July this year. I stayed home from church with the boys because they both had colds. It sure didn't stop them from playing all morning in the back yard though.

After Mike got home from church we ate lunch and he was off to work, which meant the boys and I were solo for the rest of the day. :(
BUT... the fact that we can see multiple firework shows from our front lawn doesn't make it as bad. It was so convenient to just grab chairs and blankets, sit on our lawn and enjoy some awesome fireworks with out having to go anywhere.

Josh took such good care of Roxy, who was scared of the noise.

Happy 4th, everyone!
