Too Funny

I tried to have the boys take a picture this morning before church for their Grammy and Grampy. They got the boys these cute sweaters for Christmas. I thought they would enjoy seeing a picture of the boys wearing them. Well Grammy and Grampy... this is the best I could get of the crazy two so enjoy!

Happy Sunday

The boys are napping a I have a mile long to do list sitting here staring at me. All nap times and night time after the boys go to bed have been consumed by these lists. From helping plan my little brothers wedding, planning my soon to be sis in law's bridal shower, attempting to do our taxes and my Mary Kay business taxes myself this year, lesson planning for Children's Church, chores around the house, working my Mary Kay business, and too much more to keep rambling about... my alone time while the kids are asleep are consumed lately. This is all stuff I can't do while the kids are up during the day. Well, in reality I could plant them in from of the TV or try to keep them busy all day on their own to get my work done, but it just doesn't work... I've tried.

I am really working on just being with them, playing, and enjoying this spring weather we are having, planning play dates and enjoying being able to stay home with them. With Josh starting Kindergarten this year, it has really put things into perspective.

With all that said, I am typing really fast and watching the clock. Two crazy boys ready to go wash the Tahoe are going to be darting out of their bedrooms at any moment and I am yet to cross anything off that mile long list.

I will take an extra minute to show off my handsome boys though

And what really happens when I try to take pictures

Happy Sunday!

SNOWcation

We had the most amazing week. Mike had the week off, so we snuck away and went up to the mountains in Arnold. It is just beautiful up there. We were blessed to stay in a gorgeous cabin surrounded by huge redwoods and snow. I love getaways like this and also camping were we are just forced to be together with no distractions. All you can do is hang out together, play games, build snowmen, watch movies, cuddle by the fire.... the best family time ever.

I have hundreds of pics, but here are some fun ones from our trip. And may I remind you... we were in the mountains and it was just family so I wasn't trying to make any fashion statements... you'll see what I mean.

Our home away from home for the week

We built lots of snowmen, but the boys would always tackle the poor snowmen before I could ever get a picture of them.

We would spend so long multiple times a day getting all our snow gear on. It never failed that as soon as the boys were dressed someone would have to go to the bathroom.

Lots of sledding

Lots of exploring and looking for animal tracks. We found lots of bear tracks!

Silly boys eating lunch at Bear Valley Ski Resort.

Lots of fun memories

Happy New Year

I can't believe it is 2011! I.feel.old!

We had a fun New Years Eve and of course I have no pictures. We went to a party that a family from our church had and we all had a great time. The boys only lasted until about 9:30, but they had fun playing with their friends and doing fireworks.

So with every new year comes the ever so popular resolutions. I have my own goals for this year like spend more time in God's Word, continue running, register for more races, learn new recipes, blah blah blah... my list goes on. But there is one that is very important to me and I hate that I have to actually tell myself to work on it.

Be a better wife and mom.

I am a total control freak when it comes to my house. I like it clean, organized, laundry baskets empty, etc. (and those of you who come over often are laughing cause my house is always a mess) I can't relax when things are out of order and my husband and kids are the ones that suffer.

I want to just learn to relax and play more. The dishes can wait, we will still have clothes to wear if the laundry baskets are full, updating my facebook status or being on the internet isn't really that necessary when the kids just want to play with me, we will not die if the playroom is messy or the floors are dirty, everything will be okay if I don't make my bed in the morning... all that to say I have a lot to work on.

My precious boys are growing up so darn fast and it is killing me. I want to enjoy every second. I don't want them to think my computer or my chores are more important than them.

Who wouldn't want to play doctor

or cut our Christmas tree into fire wood

or play in cardboard boxes

with these two?

Oh and for my biggest kid...

I need to make more time for him too.

I can only lean on the Lord to help me balance it all.
