Still Here, But Not Really

We are all still alive over here, just too busy to blog about it. I just hopped on the computer to input a million grades for progress reports that are due this week and to pay pay bills.... how fun.

I will be back...sometime... with some real posts if I ever get a minute in these crazy days to do so.

PS... I am totally laughing out loud right now. I sound like people are just waiting for me to post something. I don't even know if anyone else reads this blog besides my mom and sister, but at least they know we are still alive over here. :)

Relaxin' with The Bachelor

As I write this post I sit in my pjs, feet up, sippin' hot chocolate and watching The Bachelor. Kids are in bed and hubby is at work. I'm trying to enjoy my last few hours of freedom before we are back to reality tomorrow. It is going to be a busy week at school with Open House being Thursday night. It was so nice to have a 3 day weekend. Grocery shopping and church were the extent of our outings this weekend. It was great. We just enjoyed the beautiful weather playing outside, watched football and relaxed. My favorite kind of weekend. I even got to take a nap today before Mike went to work. I woke up with a pounding headache that wouldn't go away. The nap helped. If only this cold I have had FOREVER would go away I'd be great.

Look at this cutie who is all registered for 1st grade! I can't believe it.
Josh was pretty excited when the 49ers won. He and Jason love watching sports. They are like little men and get so into it. We will be routing for the 49ers next weekend!

Back to the crazy girls on The Bachelor and off to hit the hay.

Our Mountain Getaway

We spent 4 days last week in Dorrington and stayed in this beautiful cabin.

Do you notice something missing? We are in the mountains in January and there is no snow! Last year when we went we were able to walk right outside the cabin, play in the snow and even sled. We still made the most of our stay despite the weird winter weather and had a great time together. Family time is always awesome!

We spent a day at Bear Valley Ski Resort. They made snow there and had a few runs open. It was almost comical driving to the ski resort. It was a gorgeous day, blue skies, hot outside, no snow anywhere to be seen and here we are getting ready to go skiing. You walk through the parking lot to the other side of the resort and BAM... snow. Gotta love man made snow!
Check Josh and Jason's first time skiing HERE.

We spent another day exploring areas we had never been to. Areas that are closed in the winter due to snow. We hiked around the Stanislaus River and even went panning for gold and did a little 4 wheeling. The boys love the outdoors. Daddy taught them so much as we explored. It was a ton of fun!

We scoped out some campgrounds to come back to this summer and enjoyed lunch at one of the day use areas. It was such a gorgeous day and totally felt like June instead of January.

After our fun filled days we spent our evenings cooking dinners together, playing games (lots of monopoly) and watching movies. I especially enjoyed relaxing here every night. I could have just sat in this bathtub the whole trip and been happy.

Josh and Jason are at such fun ages. It is great to be able to go on trips like this together and have such fun adventures and make so many memories. Can't wait for the next one!

The Boys 1st Ski Trip

This week has been pretty awesome. We went skiing and had SO MUCH fun! Josh and Jason are amazing. These two never cease to amaze me with how quick they pick up any physical, sport related activity and skiing was no different.  I'll share more in another post of all our fun we are having this week, but Mike made this video last night and it is too cool not to share.

*For some reason it won't load so click on the link below to watch.*

Happy New Year

2012?! It's crazy!

Our week was so nice. It was filled with lots of playing with new toys, relaxing, pizza and bowling with good friends, shopping, me finally going to Kaiser for this stupid cold I've had for about 3 weeks to get meds, more relaxing, I got to go out to dinner one night with my good friend Rachel and lots more playing!

We tried to get Sharks tickets for the four of us to go to a game. The game was pretty much sold out and for all of us to go was going to be $1200. That's a little nuts. Instead, we let the boys stay up late, we all put on our sharks shirts (well except Jason who wouldn't part with his Mario shirt for Sharks), ate ice cream and watched the game cheering for the Sharks. The boys only lasted until about 9pm, but we dvr'd it and they finished the game when they woke up the next morning. Sharks lost in OT. Glad we didn't pay $1200 to see them lose (not that we would have paid that much to see the game).

New Years Eve was low key, yet fun! We went to Red Robin for dinner, I got to sneak in a trip to DSW shoes and we came home to celebrate with the boys. We played games, wore silly hats, blew annoying horns(that secretly made their way to the trash can after bedtime), popped poppers and lit some left over sparklers. We were so surprised they actually stayed up until about 10:30 pm. Then Mike and I were super exciting and sat on the couch and watched Dick Clark's Rockin New Year's Eve trying to figure out what in the world Lady Gaga was doing.

Now we still have another week of bliss with being off from school. If only this weather would cooperate. We may be going water skiiing instead of snow skiing...

Happy New Year!!!
