We went camping this week at the Pinnacles and as always we had a lot of fun!
We love camping and were looking forward to getting away from everything. There is a pool at the campground, which was supposed to be our saving grace. That is why we still decided to still go even though we knew it was going to be a hot couple of days. It was so hot the electricity that runs to the filter in the pool went out which meant no pool. Last summer the pool was closed when we went too. Some of you may remember this pitiful pic of the boys from that camping trip...
We were able to swim for a bit on our first day this trip, but it didn't last long. I didn't even take any pictures by the pool because I thought we would be there a lot. We actually ended up coming home a day earlier than planned. Along with being so hot during the day there was also no campfires allowed. Who camps with no campfires? So this was how we had to roast our smores...
...on the camping stove.
Despite the heat, no campfires, the caves on the hiking trails being closed because of bats and the mosquitoes that ate us alive we really did have a great time! You can't beat the awesome family time on a camping trip.
Our boys are really great bike riders, so we went on lots of bike rides and did a whole lot of exploring.

It was also nice just to relax whenever is cooled down a bit by our
campfire camping stove and listen to boys try to tell jokes and hear all the sounds of the wildlife around us.
Until the next camping trip.... which will be somewhere with a lake so we don't have to worry about a closed pool!
