Rockstar

Josh is a total rockstar! I had to take him to the dentist this week. He had a dark spot on one of his back teeth. I was hoping it would be an easy fix. After the xray it showed that the cavity was really deep and needed a root canal.

Josh loves the dentist. He was so excited to be there. See....
I was nervous when the dentist said root canal. But the dentist and his assistant were amazing with him. They made a root canal so much fun. I was sitting there amazed watching him not even squirm.

This is the dentist giving Josh a shot using the Buzz Lightyear gun to numb his mouth put the sugar bugs to sleep.

He got to wear these cool shades and watch Toy Story.
I know for a fact that having a dentist that is awesome with kids makes all the difference. My 5 yr old jumped up from the chair after a root canal and yelled, "I love this place!" Who does that?

Wedding Weekend Getaway

We enjoyed another wonderful wedding of one of Mike's best friends, Anthony. Anthony and Maira got married in San Diego on Saturday and it was beautiful. Mike is totally the guy version of that move 27 Dresses this summer.

We drove to San Diego and it took almost 9 hours to get there thanks to traffic. The trip home was much much better and we got home in under 8.

Mike's parents met us there, so while Mike was off doing all of his bachelor parties groomsmen duties his parents, the boys and I had some fun.

First we saw these crazy people in trash bags walking down the street followed by a film crew. I have no clue what they were doing, but it was just plain weird.

We went to an awesome children's museum.

Josh took a Superhero class and made his own costume

We lounged by the pool, which felt like a resort in Hawaii.

We went to the rehearsal dinner, which was Hawaiian themed.

Josh is wearing Mike's shirt that he got in Hawaii when he was Josh's age. Jason wore his Uncle Nate's shirt.
We walked around Seaport Village and rode the carousel.

The boys got a machine gun(of course) balloon and a Mario balloon.

We enjoyed a beautiful wedding of one stunning bride and handsome groom.

This is the first time I have ever seen my husband wear pink in his life.

This one's funny because everyone is looking at a different camera

Josh owned the dance floor

What a fun wedding weekend getaway. Next wedding is less than two weeks.... quite the summer of wedding for us.

Now we are home and I have started my trial run of what's to come of my new life as a full time working mommy. I have a week and half Philosophy course I am taking each day for a requirement to renew my ACSI teaching credential. It brings me right back to Dr. Slane's theology class. If anyone reading this went to Simpson with me you know exactly what I mean.... remember Dietrich Bonhoeffer?

Fourth of July!

Daddy had to work, so it was just the kiddos and I all afternoon and night. With the eye infections still a brewin' we had to pass on the fun bbqs we were invited to and couldn't have anyone over. I did not want to chance passing the infection along to anyone. I have to say I was a little bummed, but the boys and I had a fun day together.

Later in the evening we did lots of fireworks with our neighbors out in our court.
Then it was time for the fireworks show. We have the best seat right in our front yard for one of the shows put on by our town.

Even though we missed Daddy being home for the fun and we missed out on some bbqs with friends we still had a great day.

The Boardwalk

All of us have been fighting  nasty colds this week. Yesterday was Mike's last day of his three days off. So we decided since we were all feeling a little better that we should get out of the house. We thought we would escape the heat and head to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Too bad is was just as hot there.

The boys had lots of fun riding all the rides.

Then we got some Dip-n-Dots and cooled off in the arcade.

The heat and walking were starting to get to us a bit. We noticed Josh's eyes looking red and Mike's cough was quickly coming back. We pressed on and had a nice dinner on the water. We made sure to go on the pier and  check out all the cool boats before we left.

This is Jason doing the "wiggly dance". It's what their Grandma does to make them smile in pictures. Too cute!

After our fun day we got home, hit the hay and woke up this morning to both boys sick again. Now they both have swollen, red eyes with icky goop coming out. Being the weekend, we had to take them an hour away to the nearest Kaiser that was open. Turns out their cold spread to their eyes. We got drops and should be good in a few days. The worst part is we were told it is highly contagious for the next 24 hours they are on the eye drops. So what do you think I have been doing all day... a million loads of sheets, blankets, pillows, clothes and lysoling(is that a word?) everything in sight.

I will be so happy when we are all totally healthy again. I was pretty bummed to cancel plans we had with friends both today and tomorrow due to the nasty eyes. Overall, super fun family day yesterday at the Boardwalk though!
