First Week of School

We did it! We made it through our first week back to school. I am very thankful it is the weekend. Today will be filled with relaxing and lounging because this mommy is pooped. Unfortunately, with Daddy's work schedule this week he wasn't around much to partake in all the craziness, so single mama'n it this week wore me out.

Josh and I had our first day on Monday. Josh is a big 1st grader and I guess you can say I am a big 3rd grader.

Ready to go. This boy will not go without a hat.

Josh and I in my classroom before school. My classroom is beach themed. =)

The big 1st grader walking to his classroom.

Each morning the whole 1st grade start their day with flag salutes, a song and prayer out in front of the school under the flag poles. This is my favorite pic ever!

And he's off....

Jason goes to school part time, so his first day was Wednesday. Jason is a big Pre Kindergartner.
Jason and his Mario lunchbox are ready to go.

In his classroom.

He looks so tall and old!

My boy and I later in the week. Notice the bags we both have under our eyes. This waking up early nonsense was getting to us.
At the end of the week Josh came home with this.
I am so proud of him for getting the Principal Award in his class the first week of school!
And then Jason came home with a note that said he needs more food cause he eats fast and is still hungry. I though that was pretty funny.

So we have 1 week down and too many more to count to go.
Happy weekend!!

Back to Reality

School starts on Monday. I will have a 1st grader and a Pre-Kindergartner. Just crazy. I spent last week in meetings and getting my classroom ready for Back to School Night and the first week of school. On Thursday, I observed parents just ecstatic that their kids were going back to school. I am the absolute, complete opposite. Our first trip away sans kids(more about that below) was nice, but I missed the kids a ton. I die a little inside at the thought of my boys going back to school and me going back to work. Don't get me wrong, I love my job and I love the school where my boys attend and feel so blessed by both opportunities. But, I also love spending time with my boys. Even when they are crazy. So next week is bittersweet. We are looking forward to another school year, but I will sure miss these summer months of being home with my boys and just plain being together and having fun.

Here is an update of the end of our summer in pics... Boy, did it go by fast!

We recently discovered that the high school by our house has an awesome swim center.

Bad pic with my phone, but Josh enjoyed VBS at our church.
I survived turning 30. Celebrating in Maui made it much easier though. Mike and I went on our first trip without the boys. I missed them like crazy. We hadn't been to Maui since our honeymoon. It was so nice and relaxing, but we kept saying how much fun the boys would have here. We are definitely doing a family Hawaii trip in the future.

The top picture was us this trip on our way to a sunset dinner cruise. The bottom picture was us on our honeymoon on our way to a Luau. Yes, I am wearing the same dress. I may have done that on purpose. I made Mike bring that shirt he wore too, but he refused to wear it. For some reason he thought I was weird, go figure... ha.

Lots of laying out and lounging on the beautiful beaches.

This was our hotel lobby... gorgeous

Can't do Hawaii or drive the Road to Hana without a convertible. My favorite car is a mustang too, so I loved this.

At the seven pools where we went rock jumping, hiking, enjoyed the black sand beaches, swimming and saw the most amazing waterfalls.

We did lots of snorkeling and have some pretty cool pics. This isn't the best one, but these fish were all over.

Beautiful sunset on our dinner cruise.

Now it is back to reality. I am spending the weekend getting all the boys school stuff together, organizing and cleaning the house, last touches on my lesson plans for next week and definitely won't forget to throw in some end of summer fun for the boys.

Until next time, when I have some adorable pics of my handsome boys and their first week of school.

Giants Win!

I am pretty sure we are good luck for the SF Giants. When we go to games they have usually just lost the last couple games they played. Then we show up and they win. I think Buster Posey needs to thank us in person. Oh, would my boys love that! Jason yells "Go Buster" the whole game and makes all the people who sit by us laugh. These boys know more of the players names and numbers than I do.

We got tickets from Mike's work for last night's game. We(and all the others from his work) were in the nose bleed seats. But really the way AT&T park was built any seat is great. Even from far away we could see everything and had a blast!

We will try to get to another game soon, Giants, so your winning streak can continue!

Bridal Shower Weekend

All the planning for my sister's Bridal Shower paid off on Saturday. We had such a nice day. I took a gazillion pictures. Here are just a few.
We had the shower in my aunt's backyard and the weather was perfect.

The Bride's seat

I wrapped these cans with scrapbook paper, put hydrangeas in then and put them on a cute little tray. They were on all the tables. So easy, cheap and cute.

All the beautiful ladies in our family
After the shower we went over to my Nana's house(all my dad's side of the family) and had a BBQ. That was lots of fun as well. Here's the proof...

Me and my sister, Amber

Sis in law, Vanessa, me and Amber

Yes, that is henna on her arm. My bro and his cute wife.

The soon to be married couple

How come I am the oldest and I am the one that gets picked on?

We were trying to take a pic while Mike was launching croquet balls at at us.

Nana and all the grand kids

This pretty much sums up my 83 year old Nana. She wanted to ride on Mike's bike so bad and was totally serious.
Can't wait for the big wedding in September!
