Random Fun

Just some fun pics...

This weekend Josh went with Daddy to the dump. Now all the boys have been playing is "dump". Josh told Jason all about it and they literally spend hours doing this. The first thing Josh said when he woke up this morning was, "Where are my gloves? I need to go do my dump work."
Basically, they stack a bunch of pillows on one side of the couch, then re stack them on the other and then on the floor and do this over and over and over.

We moved into our house over 4 years ago and Josh was only 4 months old. People would always comment on our wood floors and how someday our kids would be sliding all over them in their socks. Well, that someday is here and I have two little boys who are pros at it.

Josh is still taking naps about 4 times a week. I will continue to milk it as long as I can. The days he stays awake he has to play in the playroom, but I never make him stay in there too long. Mostly, because he loves to do this...

The kid loves to do the dishes. He will seriously do a sink full of dishes, loading them in the dishwasher and everything. We were doing "school" the other day during nap time and he told me, "Mom, this is boring. Can I do the dishes?" I will milk this while I can too.

A Miracle

I have been healed, like in Jesus' times healed!

I was so blind, like can't see your face in the mirror or your alarm clock right next to your head blind. Not anymore!!! I can see!! I now even have better than 20/20vision.

I had Lasik on Friday. That whole procedure could be another post in itself about how crazy it was or how I almost had a nervous breakdown when they pried my eyelids open. I will spare the gory details and pics, but Mike did take lots of pics if anyone wants to see. I followed doctors orders and thanks to a nice little sleeping pill (and my amazing husband for taking awesome care of the boys and I) I slept for the rest of the day and night. The best way to heal after Lasik is to keep your eyes closed for a minimum of 8 hours after surgery. (I was not going to argue with that much uninterrupted alone time) So I didn't really get to try out my new eyes until yesterday.

It is a miracle! Everything is so crystal clear, even better than when I would wear my glasses or contacts. I keep looking for my glasses or go to push them up on my nose and they aren't there.

Josh and I taking one last pic with my glasses on Friday.

Getting prepped

Getting lasered

It's all done and I can see! I even get to wear these super hot eye shields for a couple more days...

My Life...

This is a glimpse of how I always pictured my life as a mom... pink, lace, tulle, bows, dress up, tea parties, princesses, ballet recitals, cheer competitions, piano lessons, shopping... get it?? I always just figured I would be a girl mom. I even collected anything Cinderella specifically for my daughter.

Well, this is what God had planned for my life as a mom... blue, bugs, dirt, bodily functions, sports teams, dirt bikes, wrestling, monster trucks... get it??

We spent our day at the dirt bike park. As much of a girly girl that I am, I still love this kind of stuff.

God planned for me to be a boy mommy and I think growing up on a ranch, shooting guns, camping, riding tractors, herding cattle with my dad, playing in hay were all little ways God was preparing me to enjoy what I get to do with my boys.

No matter how different I may have pictured my life to be, I wouldn't change the life God planned for me for anything. I love my dirt biking boys and my even bigger boy that I get the honor of being the wife of and raising these precious boys with.

Date Night

Daddy and Josh got to go on a date last night. We had one excited little boy when Mike told him what they were doing.

I think Mike was just as excited, if not more to take Josh to his first hockey game.

Sharks won!!

Gonna Brag...

Part of our bedtime routine on the nights that Daddy is working is to call him and say goodnight. Most nights Josh wants to dial, so I tell him the numbers and he dials. No big deal... my smarty pants knows his numbers, so I never really think much of it when he quickly dials the numbers I say.

Tonight we did our normal read books then call Daddy routine. Josh told me he could do it by himself, so I handed him the phone. Before I could even start telling him the numbers he totally dialed Mike's number on his own, pressed speaker and started talking to his Dad.

It is just so funny how I always think that he is not listening to me and then he always surprises me. Like when I thought (and was a little worried) Mr. Smarty Pants didn't know his months of the year or days of the week. Then one night he says them all out of nowhere.

So for those of you who I call often... don't be surprised if a certain 4 yr old calls you to chat.
