Race Car Juice

I have been served "Race Car Juice" all week. It sure is delicious. Gotta love the imagination of a 2 1/2 year old boy.

Daddy's Barbershop

Daddy has always cut Josh's hair at home. Well, I should say he has always shaved Josh's head. There was one time we were visiting my grandparents and we took Josh to this adorable kids salon. They had cars and airplanes the kids can sit in while they get their haircut and they get to pick out their own movie to watch too. We have nothing like that in Hollister, just good 'ol Supercuts.
Last night Josh got a haircut. For some reason this time there were more tears than ever before. Usually, he sits there and is fine with the occasional squeals when the shaver gets close to his neck or ears.
Here is Josh getting ready... notice the calm, happy face.

The fear is setting in.

After...his face says it all!

Randomness

In my blog from yesterday I mentioned that Josh loves the movie Cars and it is one of the Disney movies I am okay with him watching. Tonight I needed to tackle the laundry that had been piling on my bed all day so I let Josh watch some of Cars. I heard the word moron for the first time. We've watched this movie before and I never even noticed it. What kind of mom am I???? Thank goodness he has never noticed it (yet).
We are always losing Jason's pacifiers. One day we have like 5 and the next hour I can't find any. Yesterday was one of those days where I couldn't find any pacifiers. Luckily, he's not too attached so it wasn't a huge deal. This morning Josh asked me to open his tool box and guess what was inside... Jason's pacifiers! The stinker collected them all yesterday and hid them. Boy did he think it was hilarious when I opened his tool box and found them.
I keep on debating if I want to join a gym in town. I really do not need to be spending the extra money each month on membership fees, but so many gyms are having great deals if you sign up this month. This morning Mike and I were talking about it and he gave me some good ideas of things I could do at home and even said he'd watch the kids more often so I can try to workout on my own kid free. (I am going to hold him to that!) I guess I'll take until the end of the month to make my gym decision. I'm going to see if I can indeed to some kind of workout routine on my own.
Enough with my random thoughts... off to eat some homemade ice cream and watch one of my fav shows. Yes, ice cream defeats the purpose of working out... I know!

The new "G"

Josh is starting to really enjoy some of the Disney Pixar movies. His favorite is definitely Cars. Lately, we've been letting him watch some other ones like Nemo, Monsters Inc., Toy Story 1 and 2 and the newest Ratatouille. It looks like we have to start screening rated G movies before we can let our boys watch them. I thought I could trust good 'ol Disney and assumed they would have appropriate movies for preschool aged kids. I WAS WRONG.... especially with Ratatouille!
We've heard this movie was really cute, but had never seen it. Mike and Josh sat down last night to watch it. I was in and out of the room doing my own thing. Every time I walked past the living room I would hear an inappropriate word. (now when I say inappropriate, I mean for our house and our kids) I heard stupid and shut up numerous times, idiot and even hell. These words are even in some of the other Disney Pixar movies, but for some reason it was a lot more in Ratatouille. Call me crazy, but I don't want my 2 1/2 year old repeating those words.
Don't get me wrong, these movies are cute and entertaining for kids, but not yet for my little guy. I would have to say Cars is the one that we will stick to.

Bye Bye Blonde

I've been debating on doing something different with my hair and decided to go for a fun change. When I got home from getting my hair done Josh just looked at me and said, "Your hair is all nice and clean, Mommy." Pretty funny... or not. What did he think his mommy's hair looked like before?

Happy 2009

We had a fun New Year's Eve. We went out to dinner at my favorite restaurant in San Jose, Rockbottom Brewery with our good friends Myke and Alejandra.

Don't be fooled by the picture of the two of us.

The little munchkins had a night out too. Jason slept most of the time and Josh kept us all entertained with his extreme silliness.
We were home by 8:00pm, put the kids to bed, put our jammies on, made some homemade ice cream (Mike got a Cuisinart ice cream maker for Christmas) and spent the rest of the night watching New Year's Eve at Times Square. Well... I think I fell asleep around 10pm, but Mike woke me up with a few seconds to spare before midnight.
