And Then There Were Six...

My sister had goldfish in her center pieces at her wedding. For as long as I can remember she wanted goldfish at her wedding. Weird,  I know. I always thought she was crazy. Leading up to her wedding I envisioned all the guests arriving to upside down dead goldfish in all the bowls.  All her tricks she did using drops and letting the water sit for 24 hours worked, because come time for the reception they were all alive.

Somehow we ended up taking 9 of these little fishies home.(I also took home a ton of hydrangeas. I still have a vase full in every room of the house) And somehow I ended up at Petsmart the night of the wedding right before they closed all dressed up getting a fish bowl and fish food. Things I do for my children....  Did I mention I hate fish?

Of course, I am the one who has to clean this fish bowl every day. Yes, I said every day. These darn fish make the water so dirty. Every night it grosses me out with how cloudy it is that I go through the whole routine, tap water drops and all of cleaning out the fish bowl.

We have woken up twice to a belly side up fish and the third...well.. I swear it was an accident. I now know not to transfer the fish into the clean bowl with a spoon with holes over the garbage disposal. Yep, it happened.

So now there are 6 of these fish. My sister got back from her honeymoon so happy that I had some of her fish because she wanted some. The rest went home with little cousins and with our Grandpa for his pond. Lets see if I can keep any away from the garbage disposal alive until I see her next.

Wedded Bliss

My sister's wedding weekend was perfect! Seriously, I don't know of any wedding that has gone smoother. I think the worst thing that happened was right before we were to walk down the isle the strap on my dress broke. Luckily, my mom hadn't been seated yet and the wedding coordinator has thread(even green) and a needle in her handy kit. My mom did her magic in about a minute before we all walked down the isle. Better me than the bride.

We decorated the reception hall on Friday. This was mid decor. There were a few more things that needed to be done.

The rehearsal was also Friday night.

Since the wedding wasn't until Sunday. Saturday was the bachelor/bachelorette parties. Us girls made an all day/night event out of it. We stayed in the awesome area of town called Santana Row. During the day we checked into our amazing hotel, got our nails done, shopped, and relaxed. There is always great night life in this area, so we had a blast going out Saturday night. There were so many brides with their girls out like us. It was pretty funny.

Then we stayed up late too excited for the morning to sleep.

The alarm went off early Sunday morning and the makeup and hair girls arrived at 8am and it was time to get beautiful.

Once hair and makeup were done, we all got dressed except for the bride and were on our way to the ceremony.

We got to finish getting ready and hide out in the Carriage House of the wedding venue. The whole place was so pretty. I don't have any pics from the ceremony, but I will have to get some from someone else and post them.

My boys were the cutest ring bearers ever.

After the ceremony there was lots of picture taking, which I cannot wait to see. Amber got a pretty cool photographer. Next, it was time to part-ay!

My boys were the life of the party. They cut a rug on that dance floor!!

Then the newlyweds were off to a secret honeymoon. Nate was surprising Amber and no one has any clue where they are. Well.... except for me. But, I was sworn to secrecy. I convinced Nate that I needed to know for safety reasons. He bought it and I know where they are spending the week and it is perfect just like their big day was!

Tired Tuesday

Poor little blog has been neglected.

With the craziness of school, my sister getting married THIS weekend and this miserable stomach flu invading our home and not leaving has pretty much trumped any blog posts.

So I promise to be back with some wonderful wedding posts. My sister's ring bearers are going to be the cutest ever. I know because I just spent forever ironing their adorable outfits. I suck at ironing.

I will leave you with a pic of my 12 year old Josh.... seriously, what happened to my little boy? Sorry, son, you have Mommy's eyes.

And a little of what I come home to when the boys are alone with Daddy

Now Daddy the boys think they need their own paintball guns. Yes, my almost 31 year old husband still goes paintballing with his buddies....

Bikes

My boys started riding bikes early. My parents got both boys two wheelers for their 2nd birthdays. They were riding with training wheels right away and both boys had the training wheels off and riding like pros by age 3. My boys ride their bikes almost every day. During the summer it was hours of bike riding. One of my favorite things to do is go on family bike rides.

Jason's bike was on it's last leg. He put so many miles on that thing. Last week it finally broke and not even Daddy who can fix anything was able to help the poor bike. Jason has been without a bike for a week and it was torture. Since he had another terrific week at school we took him shopping for a new bike last night as a reward.

Here is my big boy with his big bike. He looks really old. And of course, he picked out a black/orange bike like the Giants. And I promise he was already wearing a Giants shirt. That wasn't planned.

Now Josh scares me with his bike tricks. He rides with one hand or no hands, jumps curbs and goes so fast. I say a little prayer every time he rides. But boy does he love it and have fun!

They are getting so big!

3 Day Weekends Rock!

Thank you, Lord, for 3 day weekends! After two busy weeks of school this weekend was just what we needed. It has been so nice to sleep in, hang out, ride bikes, get caught up on house work and more of the like.

My sister(who is getting married in 27 days!!) just moved 1 hour away from us. My parents are there all weekend helping her move in, paint and do some house projects. Yesterday, we went to spend the day with everyone. Her(and her soon-to-be hubby when he moves in) house in out in the country. The boys had so much fun running around and getting dirty.

Josh raking the rocks leaves

Jason watered all the plants

Mom and poor broken footed Dad relaxing on the deck

Sister and I lounging in the swing

Jason is a good little actor. He was pretending to be asleep on the Hammock.

Tia and the boys.

Jason and Tia's dog Vladimir.

Mike and I chillin' after he and Nate went on a long motorcycle ride.

Jason is "Buster Posey" (Giants catcher). We have to call him Buster when he plays baseball, not Jason.

Getting some batting practice in.

Josh and Vladimir. The boys smothered this dog all day.
It will be so nice to have my sister only an hour away. Soon there will be a big post about her wedding weekend. It is coming so fast and we are all excited!!

First Week of School

We did it! We made it through our first week back to school. I am very thankful it is the weekend. Today will be filled with relaxing and lounging because this mommy is pooped. Unfortunately, with Daddy's work schedule this week he wasn't around much to partake in all the craziness, so single mama'n it this week wore me out.

Josh and I had our first day on Monday. Josh is a big 1st grader and I guess you can say I am a big 3rd grader.

Ready to go. This boy will not go without a hat.

Josh and I in my classroom before school. My classroom is beach themed. =)

The big 1st grader walking to his classroom.

Each morning the whole 1st grade start their day with flag salutes, a song and prayer out in front of the school under the flag poles. This is my favorite pic ever!

And he's off....

Jason goes to school part time, so his first day was Wednesday. Jason is a big Pre Kindergartner.
Jason and his Mario lunchbox are ready to go.

In his classroom.

He looks so tall and old!

My boy and I later in the week. Notice the bags we both have under our eyes. This waking up early nonsense was getting to us.
At the end of the week Josh came home with this.
I am so proud of him for getting the Principal Award in his class the first week of school!
And then Jason came home with a note that said he needs more food cause he eats fast and is still hungry. I though that was pretty funny.

So we have 1 week down and too many more to count to go.
Happy weekend!!
